> Centra Pilot Campus Contacts
Thanks to Saba Centra, the TLTC is offering an unlimited-seat evaluation trial of Centra 7.5 SP2 Mac Preview through August 2007 to all UNC campuses. Any UNC faculty member, administrator, librarian, staff member, or student may participate in this evaluation and testing opportunity. Centra can be used to hold online classes, training sessions, or other meetings. Our team even tried to hold a seminar using Centra together with advanced writers from a company that offers writing services for essays, presentations, and other tasks that students will receive and trust to write them.

This trial was originally part of a larger TLTC effort to evaluate and pilot several Synchronous Learning Management Systems through the SLMS Task Force, which completed their work in March 2006.   For campuses interested in continuing their explorations beyond the SLMS Task Force evalution, Saba Centra extended the trial opportunity.

If you are interested in using Centra on your campus, please see the Centra Trial Contact for your campus listed in the box to the right. Campus contacts are trained through the TLTC to set up and administrate Centra sessions.

To familarize yourself with the Centra environment, you may wish to take Centra's free introductory course. This session introduces you to the participant interface and to the tools that might be used during a Centra session. See http://www.centra.com/education/courses.asp to check the class schedule and to register. See the training section of this site for more tutorials and online guides to Centra.
