| The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports classroom instruction by making sure that teachers have the tools they need to deliver instruction. The Equipment Loan Service helps to provide equipment and instructional technologies/media on site. TV/VCR, projectors, laptops, flipcharts may be assigned to instructors for the term. CTL also monitors classroom conditions and maintains a comprehensive database of information on the status of general purpose classrooms.CTL provides research and design support to university committees and departments who work to improve teaching and learning environments. |

UNCG has been participating in a UNC system-wide program called Independent Study by Extension for several years. Sometimes referred to as correspondence study, the program offers numerous courses in a wide range of disciplines. UNCG also administers a number of professional development, non-credit courses that are offered outside the regular University schedule to the Piedmont Triad and N.C. communities. With the emergence of electronic technologies, UNCG now has the ability to offer selected courses to students in a distance-learning format.
