Abstract (up to 200 words):
The UNC-Pembroke "Media Integration Project" offers a truly integrated new media undergraduate curriculum, as well as community service activities and professional services. Participating faculty from the Art, Mass Communications & Music departments have successfully developed and co-offer these opportunities to students and faculty and maintain an abiding connection to the academic roots of these supporting disciplines. Using these resources, the faculty of the UNCP MI project have accomplished a number of significant collaborations during this past academic year including completed digital projects with: the UNCP Native American Resources Center; the National Park Service; the International Association of Jazz Educators; and a number of collaboration with working professionals in the performing and visual arts. An explication of selected projects is the focus of the MI project proposal. Therein we will describe (in brief) the planning for, the working relationship with, and the products produced for these various and diverse collaborators.
