Internet Based Collaborative Learning: An Empirical Evaluation |
|
This 1997 study presents the results of an investigation into the use of the internet as a means of communication for teams of students from different universities who were many thousands of miles distant from one another. The aim of the investigation was to identify whether virtual team interactions could produce similar results to face to face team interactions. The authors major conclusion is that, "It is possible to achieve a meaningful collaborative learning experience for some students using largely e-mail and to a lesser extent chat-line linkages even at distances of several thousands of miles.". |
